COC-M: Clemens Aigner also on top on Sunday

After his success on Saturday in Iron Mountain, Clemens Aigner also claimed the win in the second Continental Cup competition of the weekend in the USA. Two Austrian even finished on top on Sunday.
Despite the longest jump of the day of 144 m, Clemens Aigner was only second after the first half of the competition, the Tyrolean was then the best in the second round with a 136 m jump and that earned him his third win this season with 235.5 points.
"I didn't expect to jump that far, but I had really nice headwind in the first round. At the take-off I already thought that this was a perfect jump and then I got higher and higher. It's great that I could set a new hill record here. It was a great weekend with great conditions", said the winner.
Aigner's teammate Markus Schiffner, who had also already shown a strong performance on Saturday when he was third, posted jumps of 129.5 m and 128.5 m and secured the 1-2 finish for Austria with his total of 219.5 points. "Yesterday I was third, today I finished second, so we should have another competition here tomorrow. I had very good jumps here and I'm very satisfied with my performances", told Markus Schiffner.
Slovenia's Lovro Kos could convince with very good performances this weekend as well and he impressively confirmed his sixth place in Saturday's competition today. The 20-year-old landed at 141.5 m and 115.5 m and achieved his first podium in the COC with 217.4 points and the third place. After round 1, he was even in the lead ahead of Aigner and Schiffner. "It was an excellent day for me. The wind was a bit stronger than yesterday, but the conditions were almost the same. It was super fun to jump here today. I love this hill in Iron Mountain", said the Slovene.
Together with Lovro Kos, Cene Prevc, Jaka Hvala and Rok Justin completed the strong team performance of the Slovenes on the final day of competition in Michigan in fourth, eighth and ninth.
The fifth place went to today's best Norwegian, Andreas Granerud Buskum, best German was once again Martin Hamann, who came in sixth. Ulrich Wohlgenannt of Austria (7th) and Paul Winter of Germany (10th) also finished among the Top 10 today.
With his total of 711 points, Clemens Aigner now also took the lead in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup. His teammates Clemens Aigner (695 points) and Stefan Huber (532 points), who were both competing in the World Cup this weekend, follow in second and third.
The COC continues next weekend in Val di Fiemme (ITA).
