Second win for Ursa Bogataj

Slovenia's Ursa Bogataj took her second win within 24 hours at the FIS Grand Prix in Wisla (POL). The second and third place on Sunday went to Sara Takanashi of Japan and Austria's Marita Kramer.
"In the past, I often struggled with injuries, this spring I was able to train very well, didn't get injured and my self-confidence is high", the 26-year-old explained her success in the first two competitions of the summer. "The conditions in the second round today were extremely difficult, it was very demanding", Bogataj said about the conditions, that started changing especially towards the end of the second round.
Bogataj now leads the women's Grand Prix with the maximum of 200 points, followed by Sara Takanashi (160 points) and Austria's Eva Pinkelnig (100 points).
Second place after a crash for Sara Takanashi
Japan's Sara Takanashi crashed after her second jump of 133.5 m. The record World Cup winner landed safely, but then fell far behind the crash line. At first, she had no problems and left the outrun, but she then skipped the award ceremony in order to undergo a medical check.
The third place went to 19-year-old Marita Kramer, who won all four competitions of the Blue-Bird Tour at the end of the last winter season. Kramer was also struggling with the difficult conditions, the 19-year-old had to leave the bar various times and it took a while before she was finally allowed to jump.
The conditions on the Adam-Malysz-hill became very demanding for the athletes at the end of the second round. The changing winds were challenging for the jumps, today's competition was definitely a test for the women - and they mastered it.
Besides Kramer, also the rest of the Austrian team left a strong impression today with the places four (Eva Pinkelnig), five (Daniela Iraschko-Stolz), 11 (Sophie Sorschag), and 12 (Lisa Eder).
Slovenia also achieved a strong team result with the winner Ursa Bogataj and Nika Kriznar and Ema Klinec in six and seven.
For the German team, the second competition under the new head coach Maximilian Mechler was disappointing. The best of the Germans was Katharina Althaus in 13th. Luisa Goerlich was 21st, Anna Rupprest, Pauline Hessler, and Juliane Seyfarth came in on the places 25 - 27, Selina Freitag was 30th.
It was a successful day for the French team, with Julia Clair in 14th and Josephine Pagnier in 18th. Irma Makhinia (22nd) and Alexandra Kustova (24th) scored points for Russia.
The women's Grand Prix continues on August 6th in Courchevel (FRA).
