Aspen Freeski World Cup: Slopestyle Stats Preview

● The Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in Aspen (USA) is the second of five events in the 2025/26 Freeski Slopestyle World Cup season. The tour began in November in Stubai (AUT) and after Aspen will continue in Laax (SUI), Tignes (FRA), and Silvaplana (SUI). Laax will be the last chance for Slopestyle athletes to qualify for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
● Aspen was added to the Freeski Slopestyle World Cup circuit in the 2020/21 season and has to date hosted two Freeski Slopestyle World Cup events. Aspen also hosted the 2021 FIS Park & Pipe World Championships.
Freeski Slopestyle Aspen – Men
● The men’s competition at the season opener in Stubai was was cancelled due to high winds.
● Alex Hall (USA) won the men’s Freeski Slopestyle 2024/25 Crystal Globe. Andri Ragettli (SUI) was second and Colby Stevenson (USA) third in the season-long standings. Hall is the reigning Olympic champion in this discipline.
● The 2024/25 Freeski Slopestyle Globe was Alex Hall’s second. Hall won the Big Air Crystal Globe In the 2023/24 season.
● Only Alex Hall (USA) recorded two Slopestyle wins in the 2024/25 season, while Matej Svancer (AUT), Birk Ruud (NOR) and Colby Stevenson (USA) had one win each. Hall also led the field with three podium finishes from five starts.
● Andri Ragettli (SUI) is the most successful Freeski Slopestyle athlete in FIS World Cup history. He has finished within the top three of the season-long Slopestyle standings 10 times in his 12 seasons on the circuit. Ragettli has won the Slopestyle Crystal Globe four times: in 2021/22, 2019/2020, 2017/18 and 2015/16. Only one other athlete has more than one Slopestyle Globe: Mac Forehand (USA) with two (2023/24, 2018/19).
● Andri Ragettli (SUI) has the most Slopestyle World Cup career wins with 11. Birk Ruud (NOR) has two less. With his two wins in 2024/25, Alex Hall (USA) is now third with nine career victories. With 24 top-three World Cup finishes, Ragettli also has more FIS Freeski podiums than any other athlete in World Cup history.
● Andri Ragettli (SUI) has finished inside the top 10 at 10 consecutive Slopestyle World Cup events, starting from the 2023/24 season opener in Stubai. It is the longest running streak in the field.
● Alex Hall (USA) won last season’s Aspen Slopestyle World Cup event, ahead of Colby Stevenson (USA) and third-placed Birk Ruud (NOR).
● U.S. skiers also dominated the 2021 edition of the Aspen Slopestyle World Cup event. Colby Stevenson (USA) and Mac Forehand (USA) secured a one-two finish for Team USA, while Henrick Harlaut (SWE) was third.
Freeski Slopestyle Aspen – Women
● Mathilde Gremaud (SUI) won the 2025/26 season opener in Stubai, followed by Olivia Asselin (CAN) in second and Anni Karava (FIN) in third. The results were based on qualifications after the final was cancelled due to wind conditions. Gremaud is not competing in Aspen.
● Mathilde Gremaud (SUI) is the reigning Olympic champion in this discipline.
● With her Stubai win, Mathilde Gremaud (SUI) is now tied with Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen (NOR) with six Slopestyle World Cup wins each. They trail Tess Ledeux (FRA) in first place with 13 victories.
● Tess Ledeux (FRA) won last season’s Aspen Slopestyle World Cup, ahead of Megan Oldham (CAN) and Rell Harwood (USA). Ledeux is not competing in Aspen.
● Tess Ledeux (FRA) also won the inaugural Aspen Slopestyle World Cup in 2021, making her the only woman to win twice in Aspen. Kirsty Muir (GBR) was second in 2021 ahead of Anastasia Tatalina (AIN).
● Tess Ledeux (FRA) leads the women’s all-time list of most Slopestyle World Cup podium finishes with 17. Retired skier Johanne Killi (NOR) has 16, followed by Gremaud with 15.
● Olivia Asselin (CAN) earned her second career Slopestyle World Cup podium in Stubai. Her previous best result was 3rd place in Tignes in 2023/24.
● Olivia Asselin (CAN) claimed her 13th top-10 result in Stubai to move into second place on the list of Canadian athletes with the most Slopestyle World Cup top-10 finishes. She trails Megan Oldham’s 18 top-10 finishes. Oldham added to this record in Aspen with her fourth-place finish.
● Anni Karava (FIN) recorded her first career Slopestyle World Cup podium in Stubai. This is also the first women’s Slopestyle World Cup podium for Finland and its second podium finish across men’s and women’s competition. Antti-Jussi Kemppainen gave Finland its first podium finish with second place in the men’s event at Jyväskylä in February 2012.
● Anni Karava (FIN) has claimed a top-10 spot in her previous seven Slopestyle World Cup events. She currently leads the Big Air World Cup standings.
● Lara Wolf (AUT) finished 5th in Stubai, which is the first time an Austrian athlete achieved a top-5 finish on home snow. Previously, Austria’s best result in a home event was Laura Wallner’s eighth place in Stubai in November 2021.
