A new season of competition begins this weekend for grass skiers. Organizers of these first competitions of the 2024/25 season, Skiverein Ehrenfriedersdorf and Team Erzgebirge Grasski are hosting the FIS circuit and Junior Cup racers from May 24 to 26 in Neudorf (GER). The participating male and female athletes will start with a Super-G, followed by a slalom, and finally a giant slalom.

The World Cup season will begin in Sweden, at Vrinnevibacken Norrköping on June 8, with both a men's and women's Sprint Slalom race.

A new duel between Martin Bartak (CZE), winner of the slalom and giant slalom standings and overall winner of the 2023/24 season, and Mirko Hueppi (SUI), winner of the Super-G standings and second in the overall standings of the 2023/24 season, is anticipated. On the women's side, the battle between Czech and Austrian athletes is also expected to continue, with prominent figures like Eliska Rejchrtova (CZE), winner of the slalom and giant slalom standings and overall winner of the 2023/24 season, and her compatriot Sarka Abrahamova (CZE), winner of the Super-G standings and second in the overall standings of the 2023/24 season.

I want to thank all the organizers of the Grasski Circuit for their hard work. I wish we have fair tight races without any accident.Michael Stocker, FIS Grass Skiing Race Director
