FIS Grass Ski World Cup returns to Jasenská Dolina

The Ski Association of Slovakia once again hosted a prestigious FIS Grass Ski World Cup event at the Jasenská Dolina ski resort. The world's top athletes from six countries - Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, and Slovakia - competed in the Super Combined event, consisting of a Super-G and a Slalom race. After exciting battles in both disciplines, Germany's Marcel Knapp and Czech athlete Eliška Rejchrtová claimed victory.

Rejchrtová on top once more

In the women's competition, Rejchrtová successfully defended her title from last year. Austria's Tina Hetfleisch finished second, while Switzerland's Lara Teynor completed the podium in third place. The best Slovak competitor was Nikola Fričová, who finished eighth, followed by Tatiana Suchá in tenth place. Alžbeta Bošková was unable to compete after suffering an unfortunate crash during training.

"My first run went really well, so I was able to approach the second run with more confidence. It was much more technical, and several competitors failed to finish, so I was a little nervous. In the end, I managed to make it to the finish line and take the win," said Rejchrtová after her victory.

Knapp takes the honours

In the men's competition, Germany's Knapp claimed victory ahead of Italy's Daniele Buio and Bryan Agostini. Knapp secured the win thanks to an outstanding performance, particularly in the technical slalom section.

The event also included the Slovak Grass Ski Championships, with the national titles awarded alongside the World Cup competition. Nikola Fričová claimed the Slovak women's title ahead of Tatiana Suchá.

"Jasenská is our home slope, but ironically it's the place where I usually struggle the most. After the Super-G I was in ninth place, and since slalom is my stronger discipline, I wanted to move up the standings. Unfortunately, I made a mistake near the end of the course, but I returned to the track and still managed to score valuable points. I'm disappointed it wasn't enough for a podium finish this time," said Nikola Fričová.

Organisers pleased with progress

The second edition of the FIS Grass Ski World Cup in Jasenská Dolina once again delivered high-quality racing, exciting competition, and excellent organisation.
