The 2026 FIS Park & Pipe Junior World Championships kick off this week in Calgary (CAN) at WinSport Canada Olympic Park, where the best 14 to 18-year-old Slopestyle, Big Air, Halfpipe and Rail riders on the planet will be throwing down for some JWC hardware.

A Calgary 1988 Olympic Winter Games venue and one of the longest-running FIS Park & Pipe World Cup venues on the planet, WinSport Canada Olympic Park is a fittingly legendary locale to play host to this season’s Junior World Championships competitions which, for the first time ever, will include Rails as a medal competition.

The first FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup was held in Calgary back in 2010, and at this year's Junior World Championships Slopestyle competition will lead off proceedings, with Freeski qualifications taking place on Thursday 26 February, followed by Snowboard qualifications on 27 February, and finals for both Freeski and Snowboard going down on 28 February.

On Monday 2 March we’ll see Snowboard Halfpipe and Freeski Big Air qualifications taking place, followed by Freeski Halfpipe and Snowboard Big Air qualifications the next day. Then it’s into finals, with Snowboard Big Air finals and Freeski Halfpipe finals on 4 March, followed by Snowboard Halfpipe and Freeski Big Air finals on 5 March before the Calgary 2026 FIS Park & Pipe Junior World Championships come to a close on 7 March with the newest edition to the roster — FIS Rails.

Last season Rails stepped up to the European Cup level with some of Europe’s biggest jib celebrations becoming FIS events for the first time. With eyes on getting Rails into the Olympic Winter Games at some point in the future, the event’s addition to JWCs is an important step along the way.

On both the Snowboard and Freeski sides of things we can look forward to a bunch of talented up-and-comers testing their skills against a handful of athletes who have already started earning their place amongst the very best in the world.

For Freeski, action will be headlined by the likes of Olympians Indra Brown (AUS), Luke Harrold (NZL), Avery Krumme (USA), Lucas Ball (NZL), and Abby Winterberger (USA), along with World Cup regulars such as Madeleine Disbrowe (NZL), Frank Wahlstroem (NOR) and Alex Swedenborg (USA) representing some of the top names to watch.

For Snowboard, look to Olympians Lily Dhawornvej (USA), Sky Remans (BEL), Mischa Zuercher (SUI), Ally Hickman (AUS), Jio Lee (KOR), Hanna Karrer (AUT), and Jessica Perlmutter (USA) to make some noise over the coming days, along with rising World Cup riders Yuto Kimura (JPN), Laura Anga (EST), Haku Shimasaki (JPN), Ava Beer (AUS) and a handful of others.
