Despite the best efforts of organisers, officials, and the dedicated athletes on hand at the 2025/26 Park & Pipe World Cup Finals in Silvaplana (SUI), persistent adverse weather combined with the scheduling limitations of a densely-packed weekend competition programme have forced the cancellation of the men’s Snowboard Slopestyle event scheduled for Sunday, 29 March.

A winter storm on Thursday at Silvaplana’s host resort Corvatsch forced all scheduled competition phases to be postponed to Friday. However, on Friday continued blustery winds and variable snow conditions created by the previous day’s storm resulted in conditions that did not allow for a safe and fair Slopestyle qualification to take place.

While the 60 riders on hand gave their best efforts through a challenging day of stop-and-start training in the difficult conditions, ultimately it become clear that the various weather factors at play in the Corvatsch Slopestyle venue would make an acceptable level of competition impossible.

Unfortunately, with a weekend Silvaplana World Cup competition schedule that also includes women’s Freeski Slopestyle qualifications, men’s and women’s Freeski Slopestyle finals, and snowboard halfpipe finals on Saturday, as well as women’s Snowboard Slopestyle qualifications, women’s Slopestyle finals, and Freeski Halfpipe finals on Sunday, the cancellation of the full men’s Snowboard Slopestyle programme was unavoidable.

With three successful men’s Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup competitions in the books from Aspen (USA), Laax (SUI), and Flachau (AUT), the necessary quota of competitions required to award the Crystal Globe have been met in 2025/25. This means that, with 140 points, China’s Su Yiming will add the slopestyle Crystal Globe title to a remarkable season that also saw him claim the Big Air Crystal Globe, as well Slopestyle gold and Big Air silver medals at the Milano Cortina 2025/25 Olympic Winter Games.

Just one point back of Su in second place on the season is the USA’s Judd Henkes on 139 points, as the 24-year-old matches his best career World Cup Slopestyle overall finish from the 2018/19 season. Rounding out the Slopestyle top three is 17-year-old Japanese rookie Yuto Kimura, who finishes his first season of World Cup action with 135 points, to finish just four points back of Henkes.

The awards ceremony for the season’s top riders will take place following the conclusion of Sunday’s scheduled competitions at Corvatsch’s Murtel Station.

FIS Park & Pipe would like to the thank the Silvaplana World Cup Organising Committee, the course crews, the volunteers, and the men’s Slopestyle athletes for all their efforts, patience, commitment, and cooperation this week. We loo forward to a successful and entertaining weekend of competition coming up in Silvaplana on Saturday and Sunday.
