Japanese men have reached the podium in each of the last 12 Big Air World Cup events. That run started after the Copper World Cup on 17 December 2022 when Marcus Kleveland (NOR), Chris Corning (USA) and Ian Matteoli (ITA) made up the top three. That third place marked Matteoli’s first career World Cup podium finish.
Ian Matteoli (ITA) can become the first Italian snowboarder to win a Big Air World Cup event. He has already claimed three podium finishes: second in Klagenfurt in 2024/25; second in Beijing in 2024/25; third in Copper Mountain (USA) in 2022/23.
Rene Rinnekangas (FIN) finished third at the most recent Big Air World Cup event in Beijing (CHN), his second career Big Air World Cup podium after second place in Chur (SUI) in 2021/22.
Eli Bouchard (CAN) won the most recent Big Air World Cup event held on U.S. snow in Aspen in February 2025. He can join compatriot Max Parrot (CAN, 2) as the only snowboarders to claim multiple Big Air World Cup victories on American snow.
Redmond Gerard (USA) will compete in a Big Air World Cup event for the first time this season. He can become the first American rider to win a Big Air event since Chris Corning triumphed in Atlanta (USA) in 2019/20.
